DIY~Dog Treat Mason Jar

Okay, I'm just gonna say this right away - I LOVE my treat jar.  I keep it by the door to reward Mandy when she comes when I call.๐Ÿ™‚
It's also great for mixing up a variety of treats for training(So she doesn't get bored).
As soon as I take down the treat jar Mandy will be right there sitting. So far I have only taught Mandy how to sit, lay down, shake, and roll over. We are working on stay (which is taking longer then I thought) and how to hold a treat on her nose (that's really hard, btw).

Step 1~ Paint your mason jar.
I put mine upside down so I could paint the bottom of the jar.

Step 2~ Let it dry
I painted mine in the evening and let it dry over night.

Step 3~ Draw the paw prints
I used a Permanent marker to draw my paw prints
(you can use paint if you want๐Ÿ˜‰).

Step 4~ Fill it with TREATS!

Golden Retrievers are a smart breed. Mandy has been known to open a bag of treats in hiding, but she hasn't been able to unscrew a jar...yet.
~
I hope you enjoy making this craft as much as I did!

Pill Pockets

I know how hard it is to give your dog a pill. So when I came across these treats, I was super excited!
This post contains affiliate links.

Pill pockets are super easy to use. Just slide the pill inside, pinch it shut, then give your dog a treat! It couldn't get much easier.

Not only are these super tasty (for the dog), but Greenies brand is made with all-natural ingredients and comes in a few different flavors: Peanut Butter, Chicken, and Hickory Smoke. Peanut Butter is Mandy's favorite. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I've used it for more than just pills - and the extras make for fun training treats. These are one of the best things I've ever bought for Mandy!

Mandy and I give this product 5 out of 5 puppy paws!

Finding Mandy

I have always loved puppies. Even as a little girl I was obsessed with petting and playing with any puppy that bounded into my path. I was blessed with several memorable dogs in my life, but never that one little baby that I could raise and be a mommy to.
This past March, I was suddenly inspired. What if I were to find a Golden Retriever, raise her, then eventually sell her future puppies? I could bask in my love of puppies - little paws, wet tongues, floppy ears and all - and make a few extra dollars (Okay... maybe more than a few).
So I searched. And searched. And waited.
   And she came.
It was March 2017 and I held in my arms the furry bundle of my dreams. She was eight weeks old - tiny, and sweet. I brought her home along with those little paws, wet tongue, floppy ears...
... and a crazy big responsibility.
Late nights, no sleep, holes in the yard, missing shoes, and a lot of exercise. Running through a yard full of puddles and snow drifts, in my socks, in the middle of the night, was definitely a workout.
Yet, through it all, I somehow still fell in love with that Golden Retriever. She wasn't perfect, but she was finally mine.

And so my journey with Mandolin Rain aka Mandy began.
